The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records February 11, 2021 SPR21/0215 Michael P. McCarron Town Clerk Town of West Newbury 381 Main Street West Newbury, MA 01985 Dear Michael McCarron: I have received the petition of Todd Wallack of the Boston Globe appealing the nonresponse of the Town of West Newbury (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 29, 2020, Mr. Wallack requested “[a]n electronic copy of the municipality’s public list of registered voters, also known as the voter file.” Subsequently, I learned that the Town responded to Mr. Wallack’s request with a response sent on February 10, 2021. Given that the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Town’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Wallack may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
