Chief Legal Counsel Department of Massachusetts State Police 470 Worcester Road Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Attorney Staples: I have received the petition of Jim Haddadin of NBC10 Boston appealing the nonresponse of the Department of Massachusetts State Police (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 28, 2021, Mr. Haddadin submitted a request for a report relating to an identified January 15, 2021 incident. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Haddadin petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/0383, was opened as a result. It is my understanding no further response has been provided. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Haddadin with a response to the request provided in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Haddadin may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
