The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records March 3, 2021 SPR21/0393 Laura Harris Esq. Legal Associate Office of Management University of Massachusetts Medical School 55 North Lake Avenue Worcester, MA 01655 Dear Attorney Harris: I have received the petition of B. Anderson appealing the response of the University of Massachusetts Medical School (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On February 1, 2020, B. Anderson requested, “…the personnel file pertaining to [named physician] …current salary and all complaints …” On February 16, 2021, the School responded. Unsatisfied with the response, B. Anderson petitioned this office and SPR21/0393 was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division staff attorney and a School representative, it is my understanding that the School intends on providing a subsequent response to B. Anderson. Accordingly, the School is ordered to provide B. Anderson with a response to the request in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within 10 business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. B. Anderson may appeal the substantive nature of the School's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: B.
