Silvia Records Access Officer Department of Correction 50 Maple Street Milford, MA 01757 Dear Ms. Silvia: I have received the petition of Benjamin Silva appealing the response of the Department of Correction (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Silva requested the following records within the possession of the Department: 1. The most recent contract between the Department at MCI Shirley and any vendor for the provision of entertainment videos to be shown to the inmate population; and, 2. All documents describing the specific entertainment videos provided under contract to MCI Shirley between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020. Current appeal In Mr. Silva’s petition for an appeal, he asserts, “[a]companying each of those shipments was an inventory of each video in the shipment, and those inventories should have been included in [Ms.] Kingman’s response.” In a March 8, 2021 response, the Department provided Mr. Silva, and this office, with all the records in its possession regarding Mr. Silva’s Request Number 2. The Department’s response states, “[a]ll documents describing the specific entertainment videos provided under contract to MCI Shirley between January 1st, 2020 and December 31, 2020 (inclusive)…Please find attached copies of [movies] that were received at MCI Shirley.” Conclusion Accordingly, whereas the Department has provided the records in its possession reponsive to Mr. Silva’s request, I will consider this administrative appeal closed.
