The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records March 9, 2021 SPR21/0509 Janice Thompson, Esq. Assistant City Solicitor City of Worcester Law Department 455 Main Street, Room 303 Worcester, MA 01608 Dear Attorney Thompson: I have received the petition of Defund WPD appealing the response of the City of Worcester (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 21, 2021, Defund WPD requested six categories of records related to a City Council meeting. The City responded on February 4, 2021, indicating they required additional time to respond to the request. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, Defund WPD petitioned this office, and SPR21/0509 was opened as a result. On March 9, 2021, the City sent an email to this office indicating it “provided the requested documents on March 3, 2021 as the City stated it would in its previous response…” Accordingly, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. If issues remain unresolved, Defund WPD may appeal the substantive nature of the City's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
