The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records March 8, 2021 SPR21/0544 Francis X. Wright, Jr., Esq. City Solicitor City of Somerville 93 Highland Ave. Somerville, MA 02143 Dear Attorney Wright: I have received the petition of Attorney Stephen W. Rider appealing the nonresponse of the City of Somerville (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 10, 2020, Attorney Rider requested records pertaining to a certain individual’s operation of a pawnbroker business in the City. Claiming to have received no response, Attorney Rider appealed and SPR21/0544 was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the City responded to Attorney Rider’s request on March 8, 2021. In an email to this office on the same day, Attorney Rider confirmed receipt of the City’s response. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the City’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Attorney Rider may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Stephen W. Rider, Esq.
