The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records April 15, 2021 SPR21/0847 Kimberly M. Scanlon Acting City Solicitor/Records Access Officer City of Medford City Hall 85 George P. Hassett Drive Medford, MA 02155 Dear Attorney Scanlon: I have received the petition of Joseph Viglione appealing the response of the City of Medford (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 19, 2021, Mr. Viglione requested three categories of records including, “any document providing an estimate or final cost of the proposed name-change of the Columbus school…” The City provided a response on April 2, 2021, indicating there were no records responsive to the request. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, Mr. Viglione petitioned this office and SPR21/0847 was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, the City provided a supplemental response to Mr. Viglione on April 5, 2021. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s April 2nd response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. If issues remain unresolved, Mr. Viglione may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
