The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records April 6, 2021 SPR21/0866 Gretchen Grosky Director of Communications Essex County Sheriff’s Office 20 Manning Avenue Middleton, MA 01949 Dear Ms. Grosky: I have received the petition of Anthony Barry appealing the nonresponse of the Essex County Sheriff’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On February 15, 2021, Mr. Barry requested, “[a]ny and all documents, including but not limited to arrest reports …” related to two named individuals. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Barry petitioned this office and SPR21/0866 was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Office provided Mr. Barry with a response to his request dated February 22, 2021. Whereas the basis of the appeal was opened as a result of the Office’s lack of response to Mr. Barry’s request, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Barry may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
