The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records April 15, 2021 SPR21/0908 Jennifer M. Staples, Esq. Office of the Chief Legal Counsel Department of State Police 470 Worcester Road Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Attorney Staples: I have received the petition of Matthew Rocheleau appealing the nonresponse of the Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Rocheleau requested the concise officer history for a named officer. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Rocheleau petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department responded to Mr. Rocheleau’s request with a response sent on April 14, 2021. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Rocheleau may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Matthew Rocheleau Joshua D. Reilly, Esq.
