Murray Supervisor of Records April 20, 2021 SPR21/0928 Ms. Helene Bettencourt Department of Elementary and Secondary Education 75 Pleasant Street Malden, MA 02148-4906 Dear Ms. Bettencourt: I have received the petition of Joseph Smith appealing the non-response of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 25, 2021, Mr. Smith requested any records related to the updating process of a specified Department guidance document. Having received no response, the requestor petitioned this office. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, the Department provided a supplemental response on April 20, 2021. In light of this supplemental response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. If issues remain unresolved, Mr. Smith may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within 90 days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
