Stone City of Springfield Law Department 36 Court Street, Room 210 Springfield, MA 01103 Dear Ms. Stone: I have received the petition of Attorney Michael G. Belair of the Law Offices of Jeffrey S. Glassman, LLC appealing the nonresponse of the City of Springfield (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Attorney Belair requested records pertaining to a specific police report. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Attorney Belair petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that a representative from the City intends on providing a written response to Attorney Belair. Accordingly, the City of Springfield is ordered to provide Attorney Belair with a response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Attorney Belair may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety days.
