Murray Supervisor of Records May 11, 2021 SPR21/1077 Claudia Buruca, Paralegal Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office One Bulfinch Place Boston MA, 02114 Dear Ms. Buruca: I have received the petition of David Nathanson, Esq. of Wood & Nathanson, LLP appealing the nonresponse of Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 17, 2021, Attorney Nathanson requested. “… a list or documents relating to …all prosecutions brought pursuant to M.G.L. c. 265, § 37, i.e., criminal civil rights prosecutions. I limit this request in the following ways: (1) I am only requesting documents beginning from the date where your office began keeping records of such crimes via computer database, (2) I am only requesting documents relating to prosecutions where the victim's address was listed as homeless or gave the address of the Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02118.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Attorney Nathanson petitioned this office and SPR21/1077 was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal and a communication from a member of the Public Records Division staff, it remains unclear whether the Office has provided a response. Accordingly, the Office is ordered to provide Attorney Nathanson with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Sincerely, Rebecca S.
