The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records May 18, 2021 SPR21/1149 Rita Colucci, Esq. Salem State University 352 Lafayette Street Salem, MA 01970 Dear Attorney Colucci: I have received the petition of Joanna Gonsalves appealing the responses of the Salem State University (University) to requests for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 24, 2021, Ms. Gonsalves made four separate requests seeking several categories of records pertaining to “. . . the spreadsheet ‘FY2021 Roster - Board Approved – draft[.]’” The University provided responses on April 7, 2021, declining to produce the records due to unpaid fees and also providing fee estimates for each of the requests. Unsatisfied with the University’s responses, Ms. Gonsalves petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/1149, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, I learned the University provided Ms. Gonsalves with a supplemental response on May 11, 2021, which addresses the issues raised in her appeal. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. If unresolved issues remain, Ms. Gonsalves may appeal the substantive nature of the University’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
