The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records May 24, 2021 SPR21/1166 Ms. Claudia Buruca Suffolk County District Attorney's Office One Bulfinch Place, Suite 300 Boston, MA 02114 Dear Ms. Buruca: I have received the petition of Shannon Dooling appealing the nonresponse of the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Dooling filed a public records request for “communication/documentation, including but not limited to emails, that explains, documents, or lists in detail expenditures included under the ‘other law enforcement purposes’ subhead as 7 seen in the law enforcement trust fund report filed annually with the state treasurer's office by the Suffolk District Attorney's office.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. Dooling petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the Office intends on providing a written response to Ms. Dooling. Accordingly, the Office is ordered to provide Ms. Dooling with a response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Dooling may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
