The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records May 19, 2021 SPR21/1193 Shawn E. Cadime Town Administrator Town of Seekonk 100 Peck Street Seekonk, MA 02771 Dear Mr. Cadime: I have received the petition of Doreen Taylor appealing the response of the Town of Seekonk (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 16, 2021, Ms. Taylor requested an “[e]lectronic copy of all Executive Session Minutes for meetings held from January 1, 2020 through and including December 31, 2020.” Following several emails between the Town and Ms. Taylor, a representative of the Town, on April 30, 2021, stated that the Town “will be finalizing the redactions with Town Counsel next week and anticipate[s] having the files for [Ms. Taylor] by the end of the week or by . . . the following week.” Having received no further response, Ms. Taylor appealed, and this case was opened as a result. Subsequently I learned that the Town intends to provide a response. In an email to this office on May 18, 2021, the Town indicated that it is “99% complete with Ms. Taylor’s request and . . . would expect to have it emailed to her no later than Thursday [May 20, 2021].” Accordingly, the Town is ordered to provide Ms. Taylor with a response to her request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law, and its Regulations by May 20, 2021. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Sincerely, Rebecca S.
