The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records May 24, 2021 SPR21/1209 Emmett Catanese Town of Provincetown Office of the Town Clerk 260 Commercial Street Provincetown, MA 02657 Dear Mr. Catanese: I have received the petition of Steven L. Smith appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Provincetown Office of the Town Clerk (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 1, 2021, Mr. Smith requested records relating to “[1] All records/bills that were paid by the Town to Herring Cove Animal Hospital and/or Animal Inn; [2] All records related to my dog; [3] A copy of the bill for the vaccination etc; [4] Any records/bills/reports generated by a named veterinarian.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Smith petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/1209, was opened as a result. A representative of the Town informed a staff member of the Public Records Division on May 21, 2021 that responses dated April 9th and May 7th were provided to Mr. Smith. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Smith may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
