The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records June 7, 2021 SPR21/1304 Lieutenant Detective Richard P. Abate Records Access Officer Town of Reading Police Department 15 Union Street Reading, MA 01867 Dear Lieutenant Detective Abate: I have received the petition of Walter Tuvell appealing the response of the Reading Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 24, 2021, Mr. Tuvell requested records related to “discipline, disbarment from election work, and consultation with higher authorities” concerning an identified Officer. The Department provided a response on May 7, 2021. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Dwinell petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/1304, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, Department provided a supplemental response on June 2, 2021. In light of this supplemental response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Tuvell may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s June 2nd response within 90 days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
