G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, the requestor sought “…all emails sent or received by [five identified person’s in employment of the City] which contain the following number ‘2021- 9006’ Date range to search 5/10/2021-5/27/2021 (inclusive of end dates) Any emails that seek advice from an attorney and contain info that meets the standard for redaction to save time, the body of those emails should be blanket redacted. Any attachments should be preserved and sent.” The City provided an initial response on June 10, 2021, seeking an extension of time of fifteen days to provide a complete response. Specifically, the City asserted, “I will try to get this completed before the 15 days are complete.” Unsatisfied with the June 10th response, the requestor petitioned the Supervisor of Records (Supervisor), and this appeal was opened. Subsequent to the intervention by a Senior Attorney in the Public Records Division, I learned the City intends to provide the requestor with a subsequent response. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Conclusion Accordingly, where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s June 10th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. The requestor may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s subsequent response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
