Murray Supervisor of Records June 28, 2021 SPR21/1539 Ms. Seah Levy City of Cambridge Law Department City Hall 795 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge MA 02139 Dear Ms. Levy: I have received the petition of Mr. John Hawkinson appealing the nonresponse of the City of Cambridge Law Department (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Hawkinson submitted a request for “any records of communication between the Law. Dept and City Councillors regarding the procurement of this outside opinion (e.g. anything that would show that they were consulted on the framing of the question)… [and] any records of billing for this that go to how much Atty. Reich cost.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Hawkinson petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequently, this office was notified that a response was provided, dated June 21, 2021. Where this matter was opened based upon the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Hawkinson may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
