The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records July 9, 2021 SPR21/1598 Allison M. Cogliano Assistant City Solicitor 45 School Street Brockton, MA 02301 Dear Attorney Cogliano: I have received the petition of Jeanne L. Holmes-Kireilis appealing the nonresponse of the City of Brockton (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 17, 2021, Ms. Kireilis requested various records concerning “…the ad hoc meeting that was schedule for May 10, 2021 at 6:15 p.m.” Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Record’s Division, I learned that the City provided Ms. Kireilis a response dated July 9, 2021. The City’s July 9th response states, “[o]ur IT department is still in the process of compiling communications relevant to both of your appeals. In the meantime, I do have the Community Compact Cabinet grant information you have requested and have attached it herein. Aside from the attached, and email communications regarding the CCC Grant and May 10 meeting (which are being compiled by IT), the City has no further responsive documents. Thank you for your continued patience and I will be in touch as soon as communications are available to me.” Conclusion In light of the City’s July 9th letter, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Kireilis may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Jeanne L.
