Freitas of Freitas & Freitas, LLP appealing the nonresponse of Lawrence Police Department (Department) to her request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On February 1, 2021, Attorney Freitas submitted a request for records relating to a certain police gang database. Previous appeals The requested records were the subject of previous appeals. See SPR21/0498 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (March 10, 2021); SPR21/0822 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (April 15, 2021). Claiming to not yet have received a response, Attorney Freitas petitioned this office and SPR21/1716 was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Department has provided a response. As such, the Department is ordered to provide Attorney Freitas with a response to her request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Attorney Freitas may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
