The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records August 20, 2021 SPR21/2000 Attorney Shawn A. Williams City of Boston Public Schools 2300 Washington Street Roxbury, MA 02119 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Mr. James Vaznis appealing the nonresponse of the City of Boston Public Schools (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Vaznis requested “copies of all written communications, including emails and text messages, from BPS central office employees… related to the Globe’s public records request on Oct. 22, 2020, from the day that request was originally made on October 22, 2020, to June 8, 2021.” Having received no response, he petitioned this office. Subsequently, this office was notified that a response was provided, dated August 18, 2021. Where this matter was opened based upon the City’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Vaznis may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
