Bowman Chair Massachusetts Civil Service Commission One Ashburton Place, Room 503 Boston, MA 02108 Dear Mr. Bowman: I have received the petition of David Cantor appealing the response of the Civil Service Commission (Commission) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On August 3, 2021, Mr. Cantor requested, “…the email list of all candidates who participated in the 2018 and 2019 Massachusetts Civil Service Fire Promotional exam.” On August 4, 2021, the Commission responded. Unsatisfied with the Commission’s response, Mr. Cantor petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2005, was opened as result. Subsequently, I learned that the Commission responded to Mr. Cantor’s request with a further response sent on August 9, 2021. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Commission’s August 4th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Cantor may appeal the substantive nature of the Commission’s August 9th response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
