The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records August 24, 2021 SPR21/2032 Shawn A. Williams, Esq. Director of Public Records City of Boston Police Department One Schroeder Plaza Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Michael P. Welsh, Esq., appealing the response of the City of Boston Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On July 26, 2021, Attorney Welsh requested, “…a police report filed by [named person].” On July 28, 2021, the Department responded. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Attorney Welsh petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2032, was opened as result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department responded to Attorney Welsh’s request with a further response sent on August 13, 2021. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s July 28th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Attorney Welsh may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Michael P.
