The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records August 17, 2021 SPR21/2033 Amanda Williams Records Clerk Brookline Police Department 350 Washington Street Brookline, MA 02445 Dear Ms. Williams: I have received the petition of Phyllis Karas appealing the response of the Brookline Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Ms. Karas requested records regarding a murder investigation. The Department provided Ms. Karas with a response. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Ms. Karas petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2033, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, the Department provided a supplemental response on August 13, 2021. Where the basis of this appeal was the Department’s prior response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. If issues remain unresolved, Ms. Karas may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s August 13th response within 90 days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
