The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records August 26, 2021 SPR21/2062 Lorraine Rousseau, Esq. Records Access Officer Bristol County Sheriff’s Office 400 Furnace Corner Road North Dartmouth, MA 02747 Dear Attorney Rousseau: I have received the petition of Attorney Elizabeth Levitan of The EdLaw Project appealing the nonresponse of the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 12, 2021, Attorney Levitan requested seven (7) categories of documents “relating to the educational services offered to students in general and special education at all Bristol County Sheriff’s Department facilities…” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Attorney Levitan petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2062, was opened as a result. It is my understanding that the Office provided Attorney Levitan a response dated August 24, 2021. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Office’s lack of a written response. I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Attorney Levitan may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Elizabeth Levitan, Esq.
