Records Access Officer Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office 400 Mystic Avenue, Fourth Floor Medford, MA 02155 Dear Attorney Patel: I have received the petition of Karina Wilkinson appealing the nonresponse of the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On July 29, 2021, Ms. Wilkinson requested the following: “[1] Documents containing inmate calling service (ICS) provider phone rates and site commission percentage(s)…and monthly revenues from January 1, 2020 to present. [2] Documents containing information on video visitation, if any.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Wilkinson petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2101, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Office has provided a response. As such, the Office is ordered to provide Ms. Wilkinson with a response to her request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Wilkinson may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety (90) days.
