The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records September 8, 2021 SPR21/2186 Lynn Whynot Retirement Administrator Town of Wellesley Contributory Retirement System 525 Washington Street Wellesley, MA 02482-5992 Dear Ms. Whynot: I have received the petition of Robert E. Whalen of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, appealing the response of the Town of Wellesley Contributory Retirement Board (Board) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 19, 2021, Mr. Whalen requested “[c]opies of names and addresses, in any and all forms, of all members of the Wellesley Retirement Board (Board), still living, who retired as employees of the Wellesley Public School system. This information may consist of, but not be limited to, hardcopy, electronic, or digital records.” In a May 27, 2021 response, the Board denied Mr. Whalen’s request. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Whalen petitioned the Supervisor of Records (Supervisor), and this appeal was opened. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, the Board provided a supplemental response on August 30, 2021. Where the basis of this appeal was the May 27th response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. If issues remain unresolved, Mr. Whalen may appeal the substantive nature of the Board’s August 30th response within 90 days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
