The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records August 27, 2021 SPR21/2199 Kate Silvia Director of Communications Massachusetts Department of Correction 50 Maple Street Milford, MA 01757 Dear Ms. Silvia: I have received the petition of Kevin Norris appealing the nonresponse of the Massachusetts Department of Correction (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On August 10, 2021, Mr. Norris requested various documents from the Department. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Norris petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2199, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided a response to Mr. Norris dated August 25, 2021. Where this matter was opened based upon the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Norris may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
