The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records September 21, 2021 SPR21/2321 Cheryl Carlson Police Records Manager Wellesley Police Department 90 Lowell Street Wellesley, MA 01840 Dear Ms. Carlson: I have received the petition of Elizabeth Koh of the Boston Globe appealing the response of Wellesley Police Department (Department) to her request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 1, 2021, Ms. Koh requested, “…the incident reports and any additional records … as described in the … Department log from July 19, 2021 … includ[ing] but is not limited to, investigative files, interviews, initial reports, as well as internal and external communications and electronic correspondence [and] any and all records — including but not limited to letters, electronic correspondence and investigative files — involving ‘Wellesley Public Schools,’ ‘WPS,’ [identified address and telephone number] from July 18, 2021through September 1, 2021.” The Department responded on September 7, 2021. Unsatisfied with the response, Ms. Koh petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2321, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided a supplemental response on September 13, 2021. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the of the Department’s September 7th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Koh may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's September 13th response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
