The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records October 25, 2021 SPR21/2661 Sgt. Timothy Kirchner Burlington Police Department 45 Center Street Burlington, MA 01803 Dear Sgt. Kichner: I have received the petition of Keisha Edwards appealing the response of Burlington Police Department (Department) to her request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 23, 2021, Ms. Edward requested numerous records from the Department for the last ten years. The Department responded on October 7, 2021. Unsatisfied with the response, Ms. Edwards petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2661, was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division staff attorney and a Department representative, it is my understanding the Department intends on providing a subsequent response to Ms. Edwards to address her concerns. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Ms. Edwards with a response to her request in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Edwards may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
