The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records October 29, 2021 SPR21/2727 Emily Butler Department Records Access Officer Clerk Department City of Framingham 150 Concord Street Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Ms. Butler: I have received the petition of Frank Wood appealing the response of the City of Framingham, Clerk Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 19, 2021, Mr. Wood requested a named individual’s “nomination papers with signatures submitted.” The Department responded on the same day, providing a fee estimate. Objecting to the fees, Mr. Wood appealed and this case was opened as a result. Based on a phone conversation between this office and a representative for the Department on October 19, 2021, I understand that the Department intends to provide a supplemental response. Accordingly, said response must be provided to Mr. Wood in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its regulations within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. If issues remain unresolved, Mr. Wood may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
