Adams Town Clerk Town of Abington 500 Gliniewicz Way Abington, MA 02351 Dear Ms. Adams: I have received the petition of Iona Trailer appealing the response of the Town of Abington (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 12, 2021, the requestor sought: “…all communication from [named person]…, including all attachments, from August 1, 2021 to October 7, 2021, addressed to the Selectboard, Town Manager/Administrator or any other Town employee.” On October 15, 2021, the Town responded. Unsatisfied with the Town’s response, the requestor petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2744, was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division staff attorney and a Town representative, it is my understanding that the Town intends on providing a further response to the requestor. Accordingly, the Town is ordered to provide the requestor with a response to the request in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within 10 business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. The requestor may appeal the substantive nature of the Town's response within ninety days.
