The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records November 4, 2021 SPR21/2781 Superintendent Carol Jacobs Town of Georgetown Public Schools 51 North Street Georgetown, MA 01833 Dear Superintendent Jacobs: I have received the petition of Malden Transparency appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Georgetown Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 26, 2021, the requester sought the following: For the time period January 1, 2019 through the date you [the School] respond[s] with the responsive documents… 1. All billing statements and/or invoices from [a named law firm]; 2. All documents evidencing payments made to [a named law firm]. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Malden Transparency petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2781, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the School has provided a response. As such, the School is ordered to provide Malden Transparency with a response to their request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Malden Transparency may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
