G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). In September 2021, Mr. Renner requested “all police records, reports, incident reports, arrest records, or offenses connected to [a named] individual . . . as well as all records associated with [a specified] address.” The Department responded on October 15, 2021, providing a number of responsive records, and citing Exemptions (a) and (c) of the Public Records Law to withhold others. See G. L. c. 4, § 7(26)(a), (c). Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Renner appealed, and this case was opened as a result. Based on a phone conversation between this office and a representative for the Department on November 9, 2021, I understand that the Department intends to provide a supplemental response. Accordingly, said response must be provided to Mr. Renner in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its regulations within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. If issues remain unresolved, Mr. Renner may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
