Williams, Esq. Director of Public Records Records Access Officer City of Boston 1 City Hall Plaza Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Don Kempner Saklad appealing the response of the City of Boston (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 27, 2021, Mr. Saklad requested, “…the English from the Laptop computer on the City Clerks Desk in the City Council Chamber during the Public Meeting[. P]lease send the English of the public funded Stenographic Record for the most recent Public Meeting of Boston City Council Wednesday, October 27, 2021 and for the next November 3 Public Meeting of City Council.” On November 3, 2021, the City provided a response. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, on November 4, 2021, Mr. Saklad petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2931, was opened as a result. The City stated in a supplemental email on November 5, 2021 that, “I[t] ha[s] copied representatives from the City Council on this correspondence in an effort to obtain an update on the status of [Mr. Saklad’s] November 02, 2021 public records request. I[t] will provide an update to [Mr. Saklad] once additional information is provided to [the City] by the department.” In light of the City’s intention to provide a supplemental response, I will consider this appeal closed. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide Mr. Saklad with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law, and its Regulations within 10 business days.
