The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records November 19, 2021 SPR21/2967 Gary Sullivan Chief of Police Easton Police Department 46 Lothrop Street North Easton, MA 02356 Dear Chief Sullivan: I have received the petition of Todd Wallack, of WBUR, appealing the response of the Easton Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On July 6, 2021, Mr. Wallack requested a copy of an “[e]lectronic log of internal affairs complaints/investigations against sworn officers of the [Department] as far back as you maintain the log in your current computer system.” The Department provided an initial response on July 14, 2021, requesting an extension of time to respond to the request. On August 16, 2021, the Department provided Mr. Wallack with a response, including the responsive records in redacted form. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Wallack petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/2967, was opened as a result. Subsequently, in an email correspondence on November 10, 2021, a representative from the Department notified this office that a supplemental response has been provided to Mr. Wallack. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Wallack may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
