The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records December 7, 2021 SPR21/3083 Peter Napolitano Assistant City Clerk City of Everett 484 Broadway #10 Everett, MA 02149 Dear Mr. Napolitano: I have received the petition of Joan P. Beckta appealing the response of the City of Everett (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 26, 2021, Ms. Beckta requested, “any and all information on ‘Envision Everett’ that is posted on the City website: how much it cost, what account(s) it came out of, who was paid to produce it, when the money requested.” On November 9, 2021, the City responded. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, Ms. Beckta petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/3083, was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division staff attorney and a City representative, it is my understanding that the City intends on providing a subsequent response to Ms. Beckta. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide Ms. Beckta with a response to her request in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within 10 business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Beckta may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Joan P.
