The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records December 8, 2021 SPR21/3157 Catherine Ellsworth Town Clerk Town of Danvers One Sylvan Street Danvers, MA 01923 Dear Ms. Ellsworth: I have received your petition on behalf of the Town of Danvers (Town) seeking an extension of time to produce records and permission to charge for time spent segregating or redacting responsive records. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv). As required by law, it is my understanding that the Town furnished a copy of this petition to the requestor, Jill Harmacinski. Id. In a letter dated November 17, 2021, Ms. Harmacinski requested 5 categories of records. In an email correspondence dated December 6, 2021, David Olson, on behalf of Ms. Harmacinski states, “[i]n the interest of saving time and effort for all involved, we will withdraw our original records request and refile a narrower version in the coming days.” Conclusion In light of the above, it is unnecessary to opine on the Town’s petition for an extension of time to produce records and permission to charge for time spent segregating or redacting responsive records. Further, this office encourages Ms. Harmacinski and the Town to continue to communicate to facilitate providing records more efficiently and affordably. See G. L. c. 66, § 10(b)(vii).
