The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records December 15, 2021 SPR21/3180 Ryan C. Merrill Acting Director of Media Relations Office of Public Affairs University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth 285 Old Westport Road, Room 307A Dartmouth, MA 02747 Dear Mr. Merrill: I have received the petition of Daralyn Heywood appealing the response of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (University) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On November 9, 2021, Ms. Heywood requested any complaints, emails, notes, memos for an identified individual’s tenor at UMass Dartmouth and the search company used to hire the identified individual. The University provided a response on November 18, 2021. Unsatisfied with the University’s response, Ms. Heywood petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/3180, was opened as a result. Subsequently, the University provided a supplemental response on December 15, 2021. Where the basis of this appeal was the November 18th response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. If issues remain unresolved, Ms. Heywood may appeal the substantive nature of the University’s December 15th response within 90 days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
