Williams, Esq. Records Access Officer City of Boston 1 City Hall Plaza Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Stevan Johnson appealing the response of the City of Boston (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 22, 2021, Mr. Johnson requested the following: [1] A copy of [an identified incident report] [2] A copy of the initial ‘written decision’ rendered for [an identified complaint] [3] A copy of the notice of the hearing scheduled for [the identified complaint] [and] [4] A copy of [an identified document.] The City provided a response on December 22, 2021. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Johnson petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR21/3334, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the City intends on providing a supplemental response to Mr. Johnson. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide Mr. Johnson with a written response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations, and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Johnson may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety days.
