The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records January 18, 2022 SPR22/0018 Chief Gerard Daigle Chief of Police Bellingham Police Department 30 Blackstone St. Bellingham, MA 02812 Dear Chief Daigle: I have received the petition of Helena Bowen appealing the response of the Bellingham Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On or around September 15, 2021, Ms. Bowen requested, “any and all information regarding the disappearance” of a named individual. The Department provided a response on October 15, 2021. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Ms. Bowen petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0018, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that a representative from the Department intends on providing a supplemental response to Ms. Bowen. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Ms. Bowen with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations, and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Bowen may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
