The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records January 27, 2022 SPR22/0147 Steven S. Treat, Esq. Assistant General Counsel/Records Access Officer Department of Children and Families 600 Washington Street; 6th Floor Boston, MA 02111 Dear Attorney Treat: I have received the petition of Sarah Ryley of the Boston Globe appealing the response of the Department of Children and Families (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 21, 2021, Ms. Ryley requested records regarding “Family First,” and had not been provided with a response to her Requests Numbers 2, 3, and 4. As a result of not receiving any response regarding her outstanding requests, Ms. Ryley petitioned the Supervisor of Records, and this appeal was opened. Conclusion Where the Department provided Ms. Ryley with a January 21st response, I will consider this appeal closed. Ms. Ryley may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s January 21st response in 90 days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
