The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records February 16, 2022 SPR22/0247 Chief David J. Clark Chief of Police Reading Police Department 15 Union Street Reading, MA 01867 Dear Chief Clark: I have received the petition of David W. Perry appealing the nonresponse of the Reading Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 4, 2022, Mr. Perry requested “…public records related to a violent home invasion which [occurred in] Reading, MA on November 30, 2016.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Perry petitioned this office, and this appeal, SPR22/0247, was opened as a result. As of the date of this letter, it is my understanding that the Department has not provided Mr. Perry a response to his request for records. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Perry with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Sincerely, Rebecca S.
