The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records February 11, 2022 SPR22/0329 Thomas Mitchell Public Information Officer Hampshire County Sheriff’s Department 205 Rocky Hill Road Northampton, MA 01061 Dear Mr. Mitchell: I have received the petition of Kenzie Rhodes of the Finance Committee – Massachusetts Assembly appealing the nonresponse of the Hampshire County Sheriff’s Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 25, 2022, Ms. Rhodes requested the “[b]ond number, type, date of issuance, dollar amount and contact information (name, address, and email/phone contact of company which has Bonded the Sheriff, and any deputies . . .” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Rhodes petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0329, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Ms. Rhodes with a response dated February 10, 2022. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Rhodes has appealed the Department’s response which will be opened as a separate matter. Sincerely, Rebecca S.
