The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records February 18, 2022 SPR22/0355 Lt. John Geary Records Department Lynn Police Department 300 Washington Street Lynn, MA 01902 Dear Lt. Geary: I have received the petition of Andrew Quemere appealing the nonresponse of the Lynn Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 17, 2022, Mr. Quemere requested: [1] . . . the investigation of text messages between officer [and] investigation report and all records submitted to the Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission [;] [2] . . . all internal affairs records for the eight officers who resigned, or were terminated, or were suspended as a result of the investigation. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Quemere petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0355, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Mr. Quemere with a response dated February 14, 2022. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Quemere may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
