Assistant City Solicitor City of Brockton 45 School Street – City Hall Brockton, MA 02301 Dear Attorney Cogliano: I have received the petition of Sean Sheridan appealing the nonresponse of the City of Brockton Law Department (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 5, 2022, Mr. Sheridan requested “…any information about denial(s) of any license or permit etc…issued to Mr. Sheridan by the City regarding ‘Mr. Sheridan being denied a marijuana license.’” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Sheridan petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0406, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the City provided a response dated February 22, 2022 to Mr. Sheridan’s request. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s lack of a written response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Sheridan may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
