G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On February 2, 2022, Mr. Datar requested “[a] spreadsheet, database or text file containing a list of victims in all murders or homicide cases handled by your office.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Datar petitioned this office, and this appeal, SPR22/0452, was opened as a result. As of the date of this letter, it is my understanding that the Department has not provided Mr. Datar a response to his request for records. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Datar with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days.
