The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records March 7, 2022 SPR22/0464 Maria F. Romero, Esq. Assistant General Counsel Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department 200 Nashua Street Boston, MA 02114 Dear Attorney Romero: I have received the petition of Yisbert Lara appealing the nonresponse of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 30, 2021, Mr. Lara requested “…a copy of my visitor entry log that show all persons…that visited me at Nashua County Jail for the following period of time: July 20, 2006 through December 15, 2007.” On December 20, 2021, Mr. Lara submitted the required authorization form. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Lara petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0464, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided a response to Mr. Lara’s request dated March 4, 2022. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Lara may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
