The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records March 18, 2022 SPR22/0532 Melissa Schaffrick Primary RAO Adams Police Department 4 School St Adams, MA 01220 Dear Ms. Schaffrick: I have received the petition of Christine Raymond appealing the nonresponse of the Adams Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 10, 2021, Ms. Raymond requested copies of all records “that relate to or mention the department’s policies or practices relating to interactions with persons who are not US citizens… and policies or practices relating to the Department’s interactions with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, and the Department of Homeland Security.” Having not received responsive records, Ms. Raymond petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0532, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Department has provided a response. As such, the Department is ordered to provide Ms. Raymond with a response to her request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. Ms. Raymond may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
